September 9-Hole Golf Scramble

Lynnhaven Neighbors gathered at the Bacall Course (starts and ends with a par 4 hole... argh!) at their appointed start time on Saturday, September 14th. We checked in and picked up our team's scorecard, then waited for our teammates to arrive. Tom Tighe greeted us and he and Fran Helwig explained the rules before their tee time rolled around.

We had some social time to greet friends and neighbors as we waited for our teammates to arrive, then got in line behind the team in front of us, ready to start playing.

Although it started out sunny, we could see a storm heading for us. Most of us just got a light sprinkle before the rain cloud moved on. The weather was hot, but there was a good breeze that made the afternoon pretty comfortable.

After we'd finished our game, we totaled our score, then turned our scorecard in to Bill Sims (the earlier tee times) or Tom Tighe before heading home for a shower and to rest a bit before going to Laurel Manor for the picnic-style menu, learn the winners, and enjoy some entertainment. We all agreed, it was a fun afternoon.
