volunteer charity group, is hosting a 50s & 60s Sock
Hop featuring Mel & the Musical Misfits.
6:30 — 9:15 p.m.
Everglades Regional Recreation Center
The center is at 5497 Marsh Bend Trail in Wildwood. Villages IDs &/or
Guest Passes required.

Abundance of Love in The Villages started as Angel Snugs, knitting and
crocheting snugs (soft caps and scarves) to help soothe pediatric cancer
patients. Donating their time and talents, they shipped what they made to 87 hospitals in 33 states each month.
ladies wanted to help more people locally and donate other types of items, so Angel Snugs
of The Villages became Abundance of
Love in 2020 and adopted a new logo, "Gifting comfort and care".
They accept donations of yarn for making hats and scarves, prayer shawls,
blankets, baby things, etc., as well as soft cotton and flannel for mastectomy
pillows and drain aprons, fleece fabric for blankets and isolettes, etc. to donate
to local charities. When donations are low, they have fund-raising events
like this to buy materials, especially the
specialty yarn for Knitted Knockers (soft, filled prostheses for breast cancer
I think you'll agree... it's for a very good cause.
